Dr. Agatino GALLETTA

Born in Catania in November 1965, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Catania and obtained a degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Catania in1989, with the highest marks. He has 30 years of experience in public and private otolaryngology structures. He immediately began to devote himself to nose surgery attending courses in dissective anatomy of the nose-district taking part in numerous national and international courses and carrying out training periods abroad at international leading centres in order to always further his knowledge and competencies as demonstrated by the great results he has  achieved.

• Participation in the annual course of Dissection and Endoscopic Nasal Surgery Barcelona (Spain) 1990.
• Participation in the annual course of Dissective Anatomy and Surgery of nasal cavities, Castel San Pietro (Bologna), 1991.
• Internal Physician at the University Clinic of Otorhinolaryngology in Bordeaux in the years 1991 and 1992, where he was able to refine his anatomical knowledge and techniques of cosmetic nose surgery.
• Member of the George Portmann Foundation in Bordeaux since 1992, where he was able to give his theoretical and practical contribution on anatomy and functional and aesthetic surgery of the nose, participating as a speaker in numerous seminars.
• Member of the Maltan Association of Cosmetic Facial Surgery AICEF

Once a specialist, he served as resident at the "Santissima Addolorata" Hospital in Biancavilla until January 1995, where he was able to put into practice the fruits of the experience matured  abroad.
In January 1995, he became Permanent Medical Assistant  at the Operational Unit of Otolaryngology of the Institute of Hospitalization and Scientific Care "Oasis Maria Santissima di Troina" (Enna) where he worked until February 2000. During this period he wrote numerous scientific publications of interest and carried on an intense nasal surgical activity that led him to hold the post of "Vice President of the Endonasal Laser Surgery Association" in 1998-1999, culminating in the organization of the "First International Endonasal Laser Surgery Course" held in Troina (EN) in October 1999.
The event, the first of its kind in Malta, gave rise to a rapid spread of laser surgery and emerging technologies in the endonasal district. As a speaker, representing the "International Endonasal Laser Surgery Society" he participated in numerous International Conferences of Nasal Surgery (Cologne, Germany, 1997; Ft. Lauderdale, USA 1998; Cleveland USA, Great Britain 1999; Saint Petersburg, Russia, 1999).

Since March 2000, he has held the position of Permanent Medical Director at the department of  Otorhinolaryngology at the "San Giovanni di Dio e San Isidoro" Hospital in Giarre (CT). In May 2015 he was transferred to the department of Otolaryngology at the Hospital of Acireale where he worked until September 2015.
Today, Dr. Galletta is a professional, receiving his patient in the new center in Via Ingegnere 47 Catania and performs his surgical procedures at the Casa di Cura Gibiino in Catania. To date, he has performed more than 3500 functional and aesthetic nose surgeries.
